Our Alpine Saunas combine the ancient principle of using solid wood walls with the modern method of cross laminating timber to yield a product that holds heat like a traditional log sauna and lasts even longer. FAQ
do I have to assemble my sauna?
No— unlike all other “kit” saunas, ours are pre-assembled and delivered to your door. Our saunas can be transported by any conventional shed hauler, and are easily delivered to your property. No assembly. No hidden fees. No middleman.
what foundation is required?
These saunas are built on an extremely sturdy base and can be set on anything from 4 level stones to poured concrete footers. We recommend keeping the skids out of contact with the ground and constant moisture. Coarse gravel that will easily drain raised a few inches above grade would be the minimum amount of recommended “foundation work.” Four perfectly level piers, plinths, or flat stones would be the ideal low impact foundation that requires very little work and resources.
do you offer electric heat?
We do not. Electric resistance heating is unfortunately an extremely inefficient process. It takes a long time to heat up, and given the thermal mass of our saunas, it is not adequate to bring it up to a proper temperature. Although it may be convenient and “easy” to flip a switch, we find the process of gathering, splitting, and stacking firewood to be very cathartic— its own relaxing and meditative experience that goes beyond just sitting in the sauna. For those with convenience in mind, we do offer a gas upgrade that is governed by a thermostat and can operate on either propane or natural gas.
